Linda, my brother spent many a year in the civil war re-enactment society and after the battle would have a good time in the beer tent, brilliant stuff, used to go and watch him
6herry, I recently went to visit my son, he and his wife have a military quarters, it's a 1950's house in really lovely order. His wife had painted the lounge in an off white and grey and had very similar wallpaper to the one in your link on the chimney breast, it looked really cool in both senses. Wallpapers have really come into their own again with some really unusual and retro designs. I must say 6herry I too am going for a lot of white on the walls in this next house.
I took a look at the croft collection Jax and really liked it, definitely had that cosy scandi appeal and I loved the sofas in the collection too
Forgive me B, but I am a little confused by your description, are you going for boho victorian all over the new house and smooth jazz coffee shop library in the dining room/kitchen with jungle accessories, or maybe jungle plants?
As for my interior style, it is light, bright and airy, white paintwork, all the walls are painted with a very pale chalky cream which becomes a pleasing pale grey in less light areas, as a contrast the doors are pale blonde oak, curtains, blinds and accessories add colour but they are mostly very pale.
I've kept to neutrals right through but have a feature papered wall in the two bigger bedrooms. Big windows and mirrors keep it airy, even though we are in a dip below the road. Country casual furnishings in lounge and I think you've seen pics of my kitchen - again painted ivory units with oak tops and oak effect porcelain floor tiles throughout downstairs. Cozy, comfy but not cluttered (most of the time!)
I like the sounds of all of your choices actually. It's funny how a paint colour can look so different in different light.
My own scheme sounds a bit of a mess now! Boho Victorian interior furnishings, white walls and woodwork with many large plants in all the downstairs rooms. many many bookshelves. Tropical plants that lead from the dining room all through to outside, sneaky seating in the Jungle, smooth Jazz playing while I drink my coffee, reading a book
