The sun has shone all day although a cool breeze - there were so many people in Cambridge today at the parks and gardens just sitting on the grass enjoying the lovely day.
I had Mothers Day early and 3 of my 4 boys took me to lunch at a Greek Restaurant in Cambridge - the food was amazing but more than that, it was just fantastic to spend time with the boys and hear all their news. A walk in the sun afterwards, we took baby grandson to the park where he loved crawling on the grass - Spring has sprung!
I haven't had Greek food for ages either B, I love the Greek and Turkish food, it's so much healthier and tasty than the usual pub grub that we usually eat when out. I had Sea Bass with vegetables and rice - the portions weren't too big so didn't feel overly stuffed and the end of it!
Beckyboo, it sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday. I can't believe that your little one is crawling already. Time to start moving things to higher cupboards and shelves. Linda57, this must be a difficult time for you. Try and enjoy the lovely weather, I think that the sunshine makes us feel more optimistic. I hope everyone has a lovely mother's day. Xxx
Never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.
My OS took me to our favourite Chinese restaurant for lunch today. YS declined to come saying that he'd take me out later in the week for coffee and cakes. He doesn't have as much money but his reasoning was that this way I'd get 2 trips out. i was really touched.
I'm glad you all have had a lovely day.
I'm sorry Linda57. That must be hard.
I'm glad the nice weather has cheered everyone up. It was lovely here too.
This was the first Mother's Day since I lost my Mum in January and I went with my Dad, one of my sisters and my brother to the cemetery for the first time - it was strange and sad and I've found the last few weeks difficult as everywhere you go there are reminders that the day is approaching.
My own kids have spoilt me, nice gifts, cards and then we had a Chinese for tea, so the day has been pleasant but I appreciate it must be difficult for lots of people who have lost their mothers/children or are apart from them.
It was a beautiful day weather-wise, warm and a blue sky, which makes everything feel better.
We walked to OH's mum, my mum and OH gran with gifts today. It was beautiful so enjoyed it. Mum didn't get a card from my sister sadly as they've not really spoken for years. Sad but that's families for you.
