The weather where I am has taken a turn for the worst as Storm Stella has hit North America. Yesterday I saw thousands and thousands and thousands of little birds flying and was staggered by the number. No idea what kind of bird they were but a friend suggested that they have flown south to escape the storm. Our son had to cancel his birthday dinner in DC last night due to the worry of the snow arriving. I am going out shortly to buy a car seat for my granddaughter who is coming to visit. I looked online for help in choosing but it is a mind boggling as to the different types so I am going to Babys R Us and hope I can get good advice there. It was so much easier when I had my babies as there was so little choice! I am going to buy a few toys for her visit too. Any good tips for that from you grandmothers and childminders? She has a little laptop (toy) which she spends ages playing with. It's been a huge success!
Hi LL, how lovely to be in America and close to your son (my son arrived back in blighty after nearly 6 months away last Friday). This is the first I've heard of storm Stella. As for car seats I'm not a grandma so completely out of touch with these things, been nearly 18 years since I had to buy one.
I've been out and about with OH today, as he's on holiday and we've been collecting things for our house from days gone by shops, been a nice distraction and the weather here has been lovely today, sunny and warm
LL, you will need to get the height and weight of your little one. We went to Halfords (lots of other people sell child seats) and they fitted the seat for us. They really were helpful. You can buy a seat with an isofix base, they are quite expensive and fiddley to remove if you need the space in your rear seats. It you have access to Which? They have information on their site.
