Jamie Oliver Party Plan Review.

A new party in town - pass it on!

It is a long time since I hosted a party, (Tupperware and the 80s spring to mind), so I was honoured to be given the accolade of the first person in North Wales, to host a Jamie at Home party.

As I prepared tapas, Clare Emerton (our party consultant) displayed some of the range of products available in the Jme collection, for the house and garden across my dining table.

Girlfriends arrived and after the usual female greetings and banter, settled down, glass in hand to listen to Clare introduce herself and present  me with a lovely gift and a pack of recipe cards, (available only when hosting a party as a thank you) .

To start, Clare got the night off with a bit of light-hearted fun and a quiz.

Do you know what ingredient is used to colour pasta black? What colour a custard apple is?

The man himself (Jamie Oliver) was beamed in, albeit via DVD! He introduced the party and enlightened us with the story behind his famous Antipasti Platter.

Clare discussed some of the product range and prepared the Jamie`s, April recipe, Banoffee Mess Cups, for us to sample. Chopped hazelnuts were part of the ingredients and this is where Jamie’s Mezzaluna  (£20) came in very handy. It is great for chopping herbs and the hazelnuts needed for the Banoffee Mess;  infact any nuts come to that, an ideal stress buster!

Jamie took over once more to delight us with a quick and simple recipe to use for the family or with friends. He gave some great tips during the short film and used his Mezzaluna again to chop his herbs! One sold to the lady on the back row!

I have to admit that I have never been to a party plan before, where the women were completely silent. This guy stole the show!

The brochure/catalogue is full of product descriptions, prices and photos and very  necessary in deciding on any purchases. The Worm Food Compost Bucket (£20) brought much interest and the Big Chill Cooler Bucket (£25) is bound to go down a treat with the boys at the next BBQ!

Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves, the consensus of opinion being that the products were extremely top quality, some a little high for the purse strings but definitely would stand the test of time and look great in any home.

An array of Jamie`s products were purchased , from candles at £8 up to £35, hand wash and cream, the well mentioned Mezzaluna and the Roost Wooden Birdhouse £15, (especially for feathered friends!)

For being a hostess you receive 15% of the products sold to spend on anything in the catalogue.

Antipasti Platter was a definite choice.  A lovely product ideal for parties, and very versatile as you can use it in the kitchen to hold all your everyday culinery objects.

I also received Hostess Loyalty Points, as another party was booked with Clare.  When I receive my loyalty card which is only available to those who host a party, I will be able to visit the exclusive Hostess website, to view more products and forthcoming promotions.

All in all a PUKKA evening!
