Recycle with Freecycle.
last updated Saturday 24th March 2012 - 21:05IN 2003, Deron Beal from Tuscan, Arizona set up Freecycle. He came up with an easy way to offer unwanted goods to people who might be able to use them with an email recycling group.
His aim was to limit the amount of stuff that went into landfill sites.
Freecycle is a non profit making organistaion which has now spread to 75 countries with thousands of local groups and millions of members. It is the largest recycling and reuse website in the world.

Members give items that they no longer require and receive things that they need. It is rather like a community swap shop!
The mission statement for Freecycle reads:-
“OUR MISSION IS TO BUILD A WORLDWIDE GIFTING MOVEMENT THAT REDUCES WASTE, SAVES PRECIOUS RESOURCES & EASES THE BURDEN ON OUR LANDFILLSWHILE ENABLING OUR MEMBERS TO BENEFIT FROM THE STRENGTH OF A LARGER COMMUNITY.
