Acne Rosacea

I was in my late thirties when I first started with the problem of suffering with large individual oedemas (facial swelling) around the chin, which could last for a couple of weeks.
I would first realise that I was starting with one when the skin would become hard and gradually over a couple of days a large, red, swollen lump would appear that would throb and become infected. Once the skin had broken, it could take a further week or two sometimes for the swelling to disappear, leaving a scar to the facial tissue.
These would always occur when there was a special event happening and like so many things mentioned, I put it down to stress,(also a certain time of the month was often the cause) but they were, in my mind extremely unsightly and affected my confidence.
I noticed that like so many things, whenever I had a sun tan, my skin would clear up and invariably I realised I only suffered during the colder months.
This problem cleared up when we moved to live in a sunny climate for a few years, but reappeared twelve months after our return.
Tired with suffering with these gratuitous growths, I visited my doctor, who informed me that it was a form of Acne Rosacea. I thought youths only suffered with acne, but was told that it is a common complaint for women and men in their late 30s and 40s. I was prescribed a cream to use for a short period and advised to stop using all forms of cleansers, toners and facial creams and to return to good old fashioned soap and water.
It helped, but I would still occasionally suffer with the problem and it was only when in the supermarket looking at toiletries and healthcare, did I come across the products Witch - a skin care range. I remembered my mother using Witch Hazel gel stick to soothe blemishes, so thought I would give it a go.
I use the foaming face wash daily, this reduces the oiliness of my skin (I have a combination skin) together with the facial wipes. I always carry a Witch stick in my handbag in case of any minor blemishes that I feel may be appearing.
They have introduced more products to the range since I first started using them, but I have seen a huge improvement in the infrequency of the Oedema’s. So I am very pleased and would recommend you take a look at the sites below:-
