Coughs Colds & Sore Throats

A natural remedy for a sore throat, cold or cough is honey. Mix this with thyme which is a great herb for antibacterial properties. It has been used for centuries to help alleviate colds and flu.

350g/1cup honey
60g/½cup fresh thyme or 30g/¼cup dried thyme

Put the two ingredients into a small saucepan and heat gently over a low heat for about 15 to 20 minutes. Make sure that the honey does not boil. Remove from the heat and strain out the herbs. Leave to cool before placing in a bottle and labelling.

To help relieve symptoms take 1 teaspoon three times a day, or add a teaspoon to hot water or tea and sip slowly.
